William Edward Worthing (July 28, 1909 – July 26, 1988[1]) was a Democratic politician from Omaha, a member of the Nebraska House of Representatives and the Unicameral Nebraska Legislature. An attorney, he graduated in 1932 from Creighton University, where he played basketball and football and was inducted into the Creighton Athletics Hall of Fame.[2][3] He was elected as a Democrat to the House in 1934, but resigned his seat after the regular session ended in 1935 to take a federal job and was replaced.[4] He was elected to the Unicameral in 1936, defeating Sam Klaver. In 1938, he lost to Klaver.
